Veronica anagallis-aquatica Blue Water-Speedwell
This plant tends to grow with its feet in the water so you find it at the edge of stream, rivers and shallow lakes. It is one of the commonest plants worldwide being found all over Europe, North America, China, as an introduction in eastern Australia and New Zealand and south America. And bearing in mind how common it is, why do I not yet have a photo of it growing in Britain? In fact I don't find it very often in Britain with Veronica beccabunga (Brooklime) being much the commonest wet place Speedwell at the sites I have visited.
