Santalum spicatum Sandalwood
Sandalwood is famous the world over for its fine grain and the fragrance of the wood which does not deteriorate over time. It flowers in Autumn (February/March) so no flowers were visible in Spring. It is distributed fairly evenly over western Australia with sites found quite far inland and to the north of Kalbarri but the majority is found in the wheat belt
