Santolina chamaecyparissus lavender-cotton I
This very distinctive Mediterranean shrub is almost always a garden escape and will persist if once planted and then neglected for decades. It is dotted about mostly in the south of the British Isles with a good few numbers on both the Isle of Man and the Scillies. The grey foliage and yellow button shaped flowers make the plant an attractive garden border species and also make it easy to identify.
