Callitriche stagnalis   Common Water-starwort CCC DD N

Callitriche stagnalis

This is one of our commonest and most unspectacular water plants. Sometimes it floats on water, sometimes it is submerged and sometimes it lies on mud. It mostly looks like an insignificant patch of tiny green leaves and only occasionally do you see a patch with tiny little flowers on like this one.

It is found throughout the British Isles and Ireland.
