Callitriche obtusangula   Blunt-fruited Water-starwort C DD N

Callitriche obtusangula

This water plant is about twice or threes times the size (diameter) of the Callitriche stagnalis (Common Water-starwort) which is found often floating in large patches on top of water in ponds, ditches and even in ruts in fields.

It is common in the south of the country, fairly common in Wales and Ireland but records become scarce as you move north in Scotland where there is little to be found.
