Vicia peregrina Wandering Vetch
This is a common vetch in the south Mediterranean and nearby countries occurring in Portugal, Spain, north Africa, Greece, Turkey and even Pakistan. Seeds of this plant have been found in archeological excavations of a Neolithic site which suggests, the authors say, that it may have been used as a companion plant to cultivated barley.
The flower colour is usually either this pale blue or the darker blue with veins on the standard and there are two accepted sub species: ssp aintabensis and ssp persepolitano.
