Senecio aquaticus Marsh Ragwort CC DD N
Senecio aquaticus should be plentiful on our local marshes but it isn't so trips to other marshy sites are necessary for photos. The flowers are usually much more spaced out in Senecio aquaticus than in other common species like Senecio jacobaea (Common Ragwort) but it doesn't expand sideways like Senecio squalidus (Oxford Ragwort) and can be over 1 m tall. The individual flowers are relatively large.
Senecio aquaticus is found throughout the British Isles and Ireland including the outer islands of Shetland and St. Kilda.
