Pulsatilla alpina ssp alpina    Alpine Pasqueflower

Pulstailla alpina whole Pulstailla alpina close

This plant was much taller than the white pasque flowers I have growing in my garden but they are probably cultivars of the Britihs native Pulsatilla vulgaris rather than this elegant alpine species. Pulsatilla alpina ssp alpina is found in the Alps, Apennines and Pyrenees at heights of up to nearly 9,000 feet.
