Potentilla montana
A common flower in the upper Pyrenean grasslands, this looked at first a bit like Fragaria vesca (Wild Strawberry) with which it is sometimes confused until you look at the leaves which do not at all resemble Strawberry leaves.
Often said to be a plant of the mountains and hills, according to Tela Botanica Potentilla montana is actually found in the rest of lowland France as well as the Pyrenees and quite far north as well. It is also known sometimes as Potentilla splendens.
