Plantago media Hoary Plantain C DD N
This is a very attractive little plant of the meadow and unimproved grassland. It is common in southern, eastern and north eastern England but very little grows in Scotland, Ireland or western Wales. The large "ruff" of white or pinkish anthers around the flower spike make this plantain unmistakable even from a distance.
