Persoonia quinquenervis Endemic
Persoonia are a genus of shrubs which grow in poor or even arid soils and are endemic to Australia. In eastern Australia they are known as Geebungs but here in western Australia they have the common name: Snottygobbles. This is because the early settlers noticed how quickly their pigs gobbled the fruits (drupes) which are green and often covered in sticky, mucous-like secretion. This species is named quinquenervis because of the five veined leaves. P quinquenervis grows mostly inland throughout the wheat belt of south western Australia.
