Orobanche grossheimii Caucasus Endemic
This was a "roadside weed" on a track which our leaders had not tried before. It was a very fruitful journey with plenty of new plants to be seen. This is the tallest and most floriferous Orobanche I have photographed since seeing the huge Orobanche crenata species in Crete. It only seems to grow in the Caucasus and the few records I have found show it in the part we explored, which is before you reach the highest mountain in Europe Mount Elbrus.
