Found all over Europe, this plant can be found parasitising not only such species as Thymus, Salvia, Satureja and Origanum which are all members of the Lamiaceae family but also shows a catholic taste for very different genera like Potentilla, Euphorbia and Heracleum. It is also known as Red Broomrape.
