Ornithopus pinnatus Orange Bird's-foot RRR DD N
On Guernsey this tiny plant grows with its cousin Ornithopus perpusillus so you can see differences other than the colour. The seed pods are longer and smooth in O. pinnatus for instance. The tiny flower was almost impossible to photograph properly with the macro facility on the camera I owned in 2004 so perhaps I will visit Guernsey again and try with a better camera at some time in the future.
Apart from five widely spaced sites in the mainland of England, most of the records for O. pinnatus are from the Channel Islands.
