Ophrys lutea ssp galilaea Yellow Ophrys
This is very much like Ophrys lutea in appearance but with a small extension to the dark area of the labellum in the shape of a fork. The small fork can be joined or separate and as in the Cyprus species the yellow area can have a greenish tinge.
Taxonomy: This species is known as Ophrys sicula Tineo by some experts such as Pierre Delforge and other orchid authors. World Checklist and Kew attribute this species the name: Ophrys lutea ssp galilaea (H.Fleischm. & Bornm.) SoĆ³.
