Onobrychis montana Mountain Sainfoin
Large patches of this member of the Fabaceae family grew by the side of the path and with its pink stripy flowers we guessed it was a Sainfoin. According to some texts it doesn not grow below 4,500 feet but can be found in pastures and alongside stony paths up to 8,500 feet.
