Onobrychis crista-galli Medick Vetch
Do not be fooled by the enlarged photograph, the flowers on this plant are so small that it is possible to miss them completely when looking down from a standing position. The plant itself is procumbent with between four and seven pairs of pinnate, mucronate leaflets. It is found in the eastern Mediterranean countries and in western Asia including Israel.
Crista-galli is an attempt at a Latin translation of Cockscomb which is another common name for this plant.
