This beautiful little Passerine bird becomes more noticeable as Spring arrives and the males (below) change to a bright metallic blue colour. Usually they move quickly between the branches of shrubs inn the countryside making photography quite tricky but the were seen on an apple farm and away from the house. They live on small insects such as grasshoppers, spiders and ants and prefer the more arid parts of Australia where they are native.
