Lotus pedunculatus   Greater Bird's-foot-trefoil C DD N

Lotus pedunculatus whole Lotus pedunculatus close

The flowers and colour look much the same as Lotus corniculatus (Common Birds-foot-trefoil) but this plant can grow up to 1 m on straggly stems with each flower on a long stem. It tends to prefer wet or marshy habitats while Lotus corniculatus will grow in much drier places.

Apart from a fewer places in northern Scotland and central Ireland, this plant is found everywhere in the British Isles.
