Lotus ornithopodioides whole Lotus ornithopodioides close

The leaves of this annual plant are slightly diamond shaped (rhombic) and the edges can very hairy indeed. The long pods are usually constricted between the seed when ripe. L. ornithopodioides is part of a legume mix used in Australia to enrich soil with nitrogen. It grows throughout the Mediterranean countries.
