Linum usitatissimum Flax I
Often grown as a crop either for making linen or for oil, this introduced plant has escaped into the countryside. It has larger flowers than Linum biennewith which it can be confused, and the leaves are wider and three-veined. It is mostly found in central and southern England and is much rarer in Scotland and Ireland.
