Linum strictum Upright Yellow Flax
The tough, grey-green leaves of this quite small flax appear to be mucronate (spike at the tip). This species tends to be unbranched while the related species Linum strictum ssp corymbosum (now L. corymbosum) is branched but with very similar flowers. Although it grows throughout Spain, this plant has to be fairly drought resistant as we found it in the semi-arid region near Almeria.
