Linum catharticum Fairy Flax CCC DD N
This is a very delicate and extremely thin stemmed plant which hardly stays still even on the calmest of days. It prefers basic or neutral soils and is quite common although often hidden in the grass. The plant can be used is an emetic as well as a purgative and one of its other English names is Purging Flax.
Linum catharticum is very common and found and throughout the British Isles including the outer Hebrides and St Kilda.
