Kalmia procumbens Trailing Azalea
In the UK I have only seen fairly small patches of this plant an certainly nowhere near full of flowers as this large patch we found in the Bernina Alps where it is known as Alpine Azalea.
Although found naturally in rocky mountain habitats the bright pink flowers have made this plant a target for alpine gardeners who grow it at much lower altitudes.
