Jurinella moschus
This member of the Asteraceae is a distant relative of our familiar Knapweeds but in this case, a stemless species. This taxon is most probably ssp pinnatisecta judging by the highly dissected leaves. The leaves of the otherwise similar Jurinella moschus ssp moschus are not at all dissected and look like they belong to a very different plant. Recent studies have shown that Jurinella and Jurinea, once thought to be different based on morphology of their achenes, are actually congeneric i.e. they belong to the same genus. The name genus name Jurinella should probably be replaced by Jurinea.
Jurinella moschus is found in eastern Turkey and Iran.
