Fritillaria minima Endemic
Apart from perhaps species like Fritillaria imperialis, many Fritillary species aren't very big so you have to keep a keen eye open to find them. This one is particularly small being no more than about 4 to 8cm tall but the bright yellow flowers make it stand out among the rocks and snow. It is attractive enough to feature as a specialty plant for alpine gardeners.
Fritillaria minima is a Turkish endemic known only from a few places in the mountains of Eastern Turkey.
