This spectacular plant is dotted all over Northern Cyprus (RHS) and is as big as it looks - the size of a small sapling. It was just as common and impressive on Gozo at the othe rend of the Mediterranean. It does occasionally appear in the British Isles and has been foun on six different sites around East Anglia - one of the driest parts of the British Isles.
