Ferula orientalis
Ferula orientalis is quite a sizeable plant. Nearly 1.5m tall would not be unusual but it isn't as tall at Giant Fennel (Ferula communis). Ferula species generally can be quite aromatic and are often used in herbal medicine to treat various organ disorders. Ferula orientalis does have some anti-bacterial activity but not a great deal.
Ferula orientalis can be found in Eastern Turkey, Iran, southern Russia and the near east including Israel.
