Eucalyptus macrocarpa Mottlecah
This is one of the most famous of the 500 odd species of Eucalypts which are to be found in Australia because of its very large showy flowers. The foliage is also much admired by gardners because of the large oval leaves which are a slivery grey colour. It can grow to 5 m but we saw plants which were no more than 3 m tall and had few flowers. After flowering it produces equally large nuts (macro = large, carpa = fruit) with a greyish bloom on them.
