Eucalyptus burracoppinensis Burracoppin Mallee
Many of the flowering Eucalypts were tantalisingly out of the range of anything but the most powerful telescopic lens as these tall trees tended to have few low growing branches bearing flowers. This exception shows what wonderful flowers the genus can have. The ridged cap of the bud opens to reveal the flower as in the RHS photograph.
