Erinus alpinus    Fairy Foxglove

Erinus alpinus whole Pyrenees Erinus alpinus close Pyrenees

Although this plant can be found throughout the lowlands of England, Ireland and Wales and even more often in Scotland, it is actually an introduction to the British Isles. It is native to European mountain areas such as the Alps and the Pyrenees growing at altitudes of up to 2,400 metres. The flowers are usually rosy purple or deep pink and very occasionally white. Here in the Pyrenees we found it in several places.
