Epacris microphylla   Coral Heath Endemic

Epacris microphylla whole Epacris microphylla close

There are different habitats on the huge mountain plateau near Sydney and one of the is open and heath like. Here various species of the genus Epacris grow in the grass and as you might expect from heath country, they remind you a little of our Erica species in the UK. Epacris microphylla (Coral Heath) was widespread in these habitats with white flowers to be seen in every direction. As the name suggest the plant has tiny leaves with larger flowers at the top of the flowering stem. It is endemic to eastern Australia.
