Epacris longiflora Fuchsia Heath Endemic
First finding this plant in bush quite near to habitation, my first thought was that it looked rather like a garden escape. In some ways that was accurate because this endemic, native plant also known as Native Fuchsia, has become a favourite with gardeners all over the world. It tends to grow in a rather untidy fashion with long arching branches in dappled shade. Honeyeaters (birds) are attracted to the plentiful nectar.
It is found commonly around Sydney where this one was seen and as far north as south Queensland but is mostly seen around the coastal regions of New South Wales.
