Daviesia cordata Bookleaf Endemic
Amplexicaule (no stems), heart-shaped leaves cover this shrub with brilliant orange-yellow and red flowers in bunches at the end of the branches. The flowers can also be red-brown. The common name Bookleaf refers to the large, round, greeny-brown bracts which enclose the triangular fruit of Daviesia cordata.
It is a common shrub found from north of Perth along the coastal plain through Margaret River and through to around Albany but absent elsewhere in Australia.
