Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora

This garden escape is one of those which has adapted to parts of our countryside very well. I see it occasionally here in Cheshire but on the Lleyn there is plenty of it growing on steep cliff faces where it cannot have been planted or even tipped.

There are a few areas where this plant has not naturalised itself such as the highlands of Scotland but otherwise it has been recorded from all over the British Isles and Ireland and particularly has colonised coastal habitats.
