Chamaerops is a single species genus and member of the palm family (Arecaceae) which grows throughout the western Mediterranean region. There are no flowers or fruits to be seen on these specimens but the fan shaped leaves on small squat trunks make it identifiable from distance. There were many sites for this plant in the region of Southern Spain where these photos were taken.
