Chamaemelum nobile   Chamomile R DD N

Chamaemelum nobile Chamaemelum nobile flower

We found this in large patches at the top of the cliffs during our successful search for the Glanville Fritillary. It looks like a typical daisy but the strong aromatic smell of the crushed leaves give it away. It appears from Scientific studies that Chamomile tea is effective for keeping colds at bay which doesn't surprise me at all since it tastes like medicine anyway.

This plant is found mostly in the south and southwest of England, southwest Ireland as well as the Channel Islands and where this one was photographed. It is dotted here and there in other parts of Wales, Scotland and Ireland but there are few records.
