Carex sylvatica   Wood Sedge CC DD N

Carex sylvatica

This is not too difficult to identify as it always grows in the shade, typically deciduous woods. If the wood is wet enough for sedges then I would tend to look just at the edge of the path I'm walking down and there it is (usually).

This sedge grows abundantly throughout the woodlands of the British Isles and Ireland but is less often found in the far north of Scotland.
