Carex maritima Curved Sedge RR DD N
This is the only site in this Vice County for this declining species. It has a fruiting head somewhat like some other species of Carex but the stem curves over and on sandy shores the fruits are often partly buried in the sand.
It is a far northern species found mainly on the North coast and in the islands around Scotland.
