Carex limosa Bog Sedge C DDD N
Since so many of them live in bogs and swamps, I've often wondered what this small sedge had done to deserve the name Bog-sedge. I have seen it only rarely but will always remember this particular Wild Flower Society expedition for shortly after taking the photo I went in the stinking black mud up to my thigh.
There is plenty of this sedge to be found towards the west of Ireland, north west Wales and northern Scotland but it isn't often found in south and central England.
