Carex leporina   Oval Sedge

Carex leporina Andora whole Carex leporina Andora whole

One of the few sedges which is immediately recognisable is Oval Sedge and its name used to be the predictable Carex ovalis. Too simple - it has had to be changed to Carex leporina by our beloved taxonomists. It can be found at heights of up to 4,000 feet or 5,000 feet and as a sedge known from all over the world has other English names like Eggbract Sedge and Hare Sedge.
