Carex disticha Brown Sedge C DD N
Although this is supposed to be a common sedge, for some reason I have only ever seen it here on the Sefton coast where it grows in quantity. It is a fairly large, rhizomatous perennial and so spreads in patches covering significant areas.
Commoner in the east of the UK than the west, it is found throughout England, Ireland and lowland Scotland but is scarce in Northern Scotland
