This was one of my long standing "must see" plants because at that time I hadn't actually seen it on my various visits to Teesdale or the mountains of Scotland. The flowers are much larger and more open in these Slovenian Alps than in the Teesdale plants. At one time it used to be found on Ben Lawers (my favourite alpine hunting ground) according to the warden but years of grazing have led to its disappearance.
