Angelica archangelica   Garden Angelica I

Angelica archangelica whole in fruit Angelica archangelica flowerhead Angelica archangelica flower

This introduced plant was in fruit when we found at Southport it while the close realtive and native Angelica sylvestris (Wild Angelica) doesn't usually flower until late summer.

It is recorded often from west Lancashire where the fruiting plant was photographed and from central and southern England but there is little to be found in Scotland, Ireland or Wales.
