Acanthus spinosus Spiny Bear's-breeches
Looking superficially like Acanthus mollis the popular garden plant, this species has completely different leaves and prominent spiny bracts protruding from the flower spike. A. spinosus is occasionally to be found in the British Isles, mostly in the south of England but is far less commonly naturalised than Acanthus mollis.
