Vicia melanops Black-eyed Vetch
With its unusual black wing petals contrasting with the yellow of the standard or banner petal, this is a small but quite striking vetch. It is found in France, Greece, parts of eastern Europe, the Balkans and Spain. It has even been recorded at least once in England but although included in BSBI's comprehensive 2007 list of plants, it does not rate an inclusion in Flora of the British Isles by Clive Stace.
