Trifolium uniflorum    One Flower Clover Endemic

Trifolium uniflorum whole Trifolium uniflorum close

Looking quite like Trifolium subterraneum (Burrowing Clover) this prostrate plant usually has single flowers but occasionally in twos or threes, which can be white, cream, pink, and even purple or bicoloured. It has pointed, almost mucronate leaves and few hairs. It will thrive in rocky mountain habitats.

Trifolium uniflorum is found mostly on the Aegean islands and the nearby Greek mainland but there are outposts elsewhere in Italy, Sicily and France.
