Trifolium campestre Hop Trefoil
Widespread in Europe, including the British Isles and Ireland, this annual trifoliate plant is so-called because the flowers and dry fruits look like miniature hop flowers. It has found its way, usually through human settlement, to all parts of the earth. Native to Europe and parts of Asia, it is naturalised in North America, Australia, and New Zealand as well as finding odd places to live in Russia and South America.
