Traunsteinera globosa Round-headed Orchid
This orchid has a compact, small flower head on a relatively tall thin stem and at first glance can be confused with a Scabious of some kind. Closer examination shows the typical orchid structure of the floret though. It is common throughout the wider Alps and the Carpathians but dotted around elsewhere in Spain, France and other European countries.
