Thomasia macrocarpa Large-fruited Thomasia Endemic
The genus Thomasia was named by Stephan Endlicher after two 18th century farmers turned botanists, Peter and and his son Abraham Thomas who collected plants in the Alps under the patronage of Albert de Haller. The genus tends to have pink purple or occasionally white flowers and Thomasia macrocarpa as the mane suggests has large fruits seen later in the year.
Thomasia macrocarpa is not widespread in south western Australia being found south of and around Perth and nearer Margaret River.
